Toshiba introduces Encore 2 Windows 8 write-on tablets

The Encore 2 comes in 8 and 10.1-inch variants, both offering 1,280 x 800 resolution for 188 and 149 pixels per inch (PPI) respectively. They operated with Windows 8.1, can last 11 hours on the charge, and so are powered by Intel Atom processors with 2 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.

The standout feature is of course the TruPen input, which uses Wacom’s Active Electrostatics pen technology to provide 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity. The corporation has included its own TruNote app, created to let users take notes, draw or paint – providing a purpose-built interface to easily switch pen color and type. There’s also a TruCapture app for importing snaps of notes to TruNote using the rear 8 MP camera.

Another interesting feature also comes in the sort of the TruRecorder app – a recording tool competent at differentiating the voices of individual speakers, allowing the consumer to play back an individual voice from your conversation, assigning icons to every speakers.

Regarding connectivity, the Write tablets present you with a microUSB port alongside a micro sd card reader, which supports cards nearly 128 GB. The greater of these two devices also offers a Micro HDMI, and will be connected into a bigger screen.

Both sizes from the Encore 2 Write tablet are for sale for purchase now, costing US$350 to the 8-inch slate and $400 for the 10.1-inch variant.
